Hi.

Welcome to my world. I document my adventures in fashion, beauty, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

The LED Mask

The LED Mask

I purchased the Dr Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro as a gift for my mom a few years ago but never had the opportunity to use the mask with any regularity myself. Since my mom is the skincare and beauty queen and she swore she saw an improvement in her skin I figured the least I could do was dedicate 3 minutes of my day to trying this LED mask. The brand claims optimal results after a 10 week treatment and I’m really only in the middle of 8 weeks I have noticed a difference. I have ultra sensitive skin (like I get a few hives somewhere a few times a week) that tends to be dry and irritated in patches with random hormonal acne breakouts, and I have seen a tangible improvement in the quality, texture and tone of my skin. My face is palpably smoother and my skin seems more resilient and stable - I haven’t even had 1 hive in weeks! I hear consistency is key and given the holidays and the surge in Omicron it’s been easy to stay home and lay around in the mask every morning. I love the LED lights at my estheticians office but it’s such a pain for me to make it in multiple times a week not to mention that it’s not financially sustainable for me, this portable mask feels like an easy compromise for me. Sure, it’s not as powerful as the light setup that my esthetician can sell me but it also requires no assembly and I can pack this mask and take it with me whenever wherever (if I ever travel again) and for that I am again willing to make some concessions. When life resumes and I’m still the laziest hardworking person ever, will I be able to maintain this? I’m not sure, but I’m hopeful and think it’s worth a shot and the $435.

What does the DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro do?

  • 3 different light settings to combat aging (fine lines and wrinkles), inflammation, and acne.

  • Red and blue LED light or third combined setting for both.

    • 100 red lights support natural collagen production.

    • 62 blue lights addresses acnes bacteria to reduce redness, calm, and guard against future breakouts.

    • Combined lights (the setting I use everyday) targets both anti-aging and acne.

PRICE: $435

What I like:

  • 3 minutes a day and SUPER easy to use

  • Different light settings to target different things. I’m lazy so being able to red both red & blue lights at the same time feels like a win

  • No assembly required

  • Portable and easy to charge and use

  • Afforadable-ish? Way cheaper than $2,000 amiright?

What I don’t like:

  • Not as powerful as in-office lights (but it’s COVID and I’m not going in for anything so?)

  • Detachable head strap is useless

  • This almost fits small, if you have a larger face (which I do) this mask might not fit well

  • Doesn’t have a neck feature so you have to awkwardly balance on your throat if you care enough
